Who was Martin Luther King Jr.?

Between 1957 and 1968 Dr. King traveled more than 6 million miles in spoke over 2,500 times, preaching nonviolent resistance in an effort to achieve civil rights and racial equality for African-Americans and other people of color. Dr. King was assassinated on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee.
