Who was the first sitting president to visit Europe?

Woodrow Wilson cross the Atlantic Ocean to attend a peace conference in Paris in 1919. The aim of the conference was negotiate the terms of the treaty with Germany at the end of World War I. He hoped to create a League of Nations to maintain peace.
